As I sit and gaze upon the reflection of my entity
I see a face all too unfamiliar yet common.
It’s funny, it resembles yesterday’s face
But it’s not the same.
One being, so many forms.
All too recognizable, the hair upon this head
But as for the face, it’s changed again.
Where is the smile this mirror once beheld?
The eyes tell it all.
Somewhere between here and yesterday
Years have passed and I see the result
Of your ignorant hands upon my face
Today.
If words expressed the horror and beauty
Of each day, these faces
Would be normal.
Yet, as I sit here questioning MY
Integrity, and gazing upon my face
From you-
I realize pain lives far beyond its master’s
Death, and far beyond
Forgiveness.

This is REALLY good Jess! I almost forgot I was reading it on DevArt and not out of a poetry book they make you read in school.^_^
I feel glad that you are posting again! Do it more!
I hope life gets happier!
